Your Clients Will Lift You Up

I have been writing resumes for a long time now (20 years in fact) and for the past 3 years I have been making my living doing this. One thing I have learned over the past 20 years is that if you treat each client like he/she is gold and if you invest in their success you won’t have to spend a penny on marketing because business will come to you. That is right, your clients will do the marketing for you if you provide a great service. Presumably this principle holds mostly true for most small businesses.

I have been thinking about this lately because I am about to redo my website again and because I just put my Ultimate Book of Thank You and Sympathy Notes on as a Kindle download. I was thinking that I probably should have done these things long ago because a great website and book sales help to promote and support my business. But those things haven’t been a priority because I have been so busy writing resumes for clients who were referred to me by former clients.

Don’t get me wrong, I make some mistakes and there have been a handful of clients over the years who have gotten annoyed with me for one reason or another. For the most part, however, I believe I have been providing great service to my clients and they reward me with referrals. I am so grateful for their kindness that it makes me want to pay it forward to all the new clients who are referred to me. I feel like the luckiest woman in the world that I have such amazing clients (I am not blowing smoke) who continue to lift me up and ensure my success. Thank you to all of you.
